Meet The Crew

Due to the Drum sailing a very busy schedule of 7 days a week, her crew are selected from the following;

Jan Shields -Admin

Jan looks after all the bookings for Drum and so is your first contact when organising a trip on Arnold Clark Drum. To contact Jan and enquire about Drum, click here.

Stuart Cook - Skipper

Stuart works full time on Drum and has been involved with the boat since 2002, so you can be assured your in safe hands. Initially starting out as crew on Drum and then moving on to sailing yachts in the Caribbean and across the Atlantic he returned to Drum in 2007 and has since taken over the skippering position and continue his love of sailing one of the worlds most famous racing yachts.

Ray Bolton - Catering

Rae has cooked and crewed on the boat since Sir Arnold first bought her. His current role as Arnold Clark Group Catering Manager doesn't let him sail as often as he would like but any guests lucky enough to sail with Rae on board are in for a culinary treat.

Dave Lilburn - Relief Skipper

An experienced dinghy racer and sailing instructor, who has spent time in the superyacht industry after a spell of working on his other love as a professional Musician. Often the entertainer on board known to spin a good joke or two. Lil skippers Drum when Stuart is unavailable.

Robbie Burns 

Robbie started sailing at a young age and was winning dinghy championships in his early teens. He went on to have national and international success, taking time out to get an Engineering degree. When not on Drum, he can be found coaching youngsters at national level and continuing his sail racing in both dinghy's and keelboats.

Cameron Dinsdale

Cammy studies Naval Architecture at Strathclyde University during the winter months and has recently been recruited to crew on Drum for the summer. An experienced sailor with an abundance of local knowledge; a welcome addition to the team.

John Mill

Growing up, John competed internationally in dinghy racing and is now doing the same  in larger keel boats. Another Naval Architecture student with bags of sailing experience on Scotland's' west coast.

Susan Coghill

Our resident wild life expert Susan is currently at university studying for her second degree in veterinary medicine having already graduated in zoology. Susan was brought up in to a sailing world and so has been sailing dinghy's and yachts all her life with experience as far away as the Mediterranean and the Azores.

Susie Edmond

Susie was another one brought up into the sailing world at a tender age and again being sailing all her life. She competes and teaches locally in dinghy's and  has experience on other similar sized yachts.
